On 26 May 2016 at approximately 01:22 hours emergency services were called to attend 143 7 th Avenue East Owen Sound in regards to a structure fire.
Police arrived on scene and confirmed the occupants had exited the residence and then evacuated the homes directly to the north and south of the fire.
Owen Sound Fire was able to extinguish the fire before it took hold of the main structure. The carport, shed and its contents were destroyed. It was unknown at the time of the release the exact damaged sustained to the interior of the residence but it is believed to be limited to the south wall.
The house directly to the south also sustained heat damage to its north wall.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Owen Sound Fire Department. There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
