Fire at 70 Wilsonview Avenue

On November 18, 2014 at approximately 9:22p.m., the Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported chimney fire at the above noted location. Upon arrival firefighters found a chimney fire that had extended into a wall of a residential home.

An aggressive attack was made and the fire was quickly brought under control and subsequently extinguished. There was light smoke damage to the structure and no fire extension to the attic. Four small puppies were rescued from the back of the structure and there were no injuries to the owner or firefighting personnel.

Guelph Fire Prevention was notified and investigating. Estimated damage to the structure is unknown at this time.
