(Bancroft, Ontario) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) completed the second week of their annual Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign. The Bancroft OPP was visible conducting R.I.D.E. checks at various locations throughout the Bancroft detachment area between Sunday December 01st and Saturday December 07th. A total of 679 vehicles were checked.
Officers charged one adult male with operate a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood and impaired operation of a motor vehicle. A one 3 day driver’s licence suspension to a driver for registering a “warn†on an approved screening device. 6 Highway Traffic Act charges were laid and 1 Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charge was laid.
