Fernando DEMELO – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – A 63 year old male has been arrested and charged following a traffic stop on Nissouri Road.

At approximately 6:27 p.m. on November 29, 2014, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a grey Chevrolet pickup truck weaving in the northbound lane of Nissouri Road, near Robin’s Hill Road.

Police initiated a traffic stop, and determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been drinking alcohol.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath tests.

As a result of the investigation, Fernando DEMELO, from Thames Centre, Ontario, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle, and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood.

The accused’s vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence was suspended. He was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear, and is scheduled to answer to the charges in a London court on January 13, 2015.
