(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On January 25, 2016 approximately 4:07 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a residential structure fire at a home located on Union Street in Fergus, Centre Wellington Township.
Centre Wellington Fire Rescue Department extinguished the fire and the home owner was transported to a local hospital by Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in serious condition.
Police have continued to investigate this incident and have charged 65-year-old Mary Jane CURRY of Fergus with Arson contrary to the Criminal Code. She appeared in Guelph Bail Court on March 10, 2016.
