Female Suspect Confronted By Homeowner During Break In

(Selwyn Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence on Pinehill Road just before 4:30pm yesterday afternoon.

The homeowner arrived home and was met by an unknown female coming downstairs. After being questioned about why she was in the home, the suspect fled out the front door. While the suspect was running, she was calling someone on a cellphone.

A black Nissan (or similar vehicle) pulled up on Pinehill Road and the suspect got into the passenger seat. The victim was unable to get the licence plate number and advised that it also had tinted windows and looked like a newer vehicle. Suspects fled the area very quickly. The homeowner describes the female suspect as follows:

Female in her thirties

5’4” heavy build

Short brown hair cut just below the ears

White capri pants and white blouse

Spoke with an accent (possibly Hispanic)

It does not appear that the suspect managed to steal anything from the home before fleeing.
