FEMALE STOPPED FOR SPEEDING – ARRESTED FOR DRUGS

(PORT HOPE, ON) – On Friday January 10, 2013 at about 10:00 pm a Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 401 when a vehicle was stopped for speeding and the driver was arrested for marihuana.

The officer was conducting speed enforcement in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near the Wesleyville Road exit when a silver Ford Focus was stopped for speeding. The officer entered into an investigation of the female driver and detected a fresh odour of marihuana coming from the vehicle. The officer located 44 grams of cannabis marihuana after investigation.

Melissa Jean DOMINA-MANGOS, 26 from Port Hope, Ontario has been charged with one count of possession of marihuana under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused was released on an appearance notice from the scene to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday February 26, 2014 in Cobourg, Ontario at 9:30 am.
