Female Driver Of Stolen Vehicle Flees Rollover Collision On Hwy 23

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON)- On Thursday January 5, 2017 at approximately 3:20 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to silver SUV that had rolled over on Perth Road 164 (Highway 23), near Frances Street, in the Municipality of West Perth. The female driver had fled west into a field, after the collision.

Perth County OPP searched the area with the assistance of OPP K9 and OPP Emergency Response Teams (ERT) members; however they were unable to locate the driver. It was later determined, through investigation, that the vehicle had been recently stolen after the owner had left the vehicle running and unoccupied.

The female suspect is described as 5’6”-5’7” tall, dark shoulder length hair, wearing jeans and a black coat with a white hood. The suspect’s age is believed be her mid-20’s.

Residents are urged to always lock their vehicles when leaving them unattended and to use a second key to lock the vehicle when leaving it running to warm-up.
