(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – Officers continue to investigate a motor vehicle collision that occurred at 7:00 p.m. on October 7, 2015. The crash occurred when the driver of a pickup truck traveling south on Yarmouth Centre Road failed to stop for oncoming traffic on Ron McNeil Line and ploughed into the side of an SUV.
Members of the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime and Traffic Unit are advising that 33-year-old John TREMBLETT from London Ontario has died in hospital due to injuries sustained in the collision. He was a passenger in the rear the SUV. His four month old son Carstyn TREMBLETT, also in the rear seat of the SUV died the day of the crash. The driver of the SUV remains in serious condition in a local hospital.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged 68-year-old Robert DUNCAN from Malahide Township Ontario with;
– 2 x Dangerous Driving Cause Death
– 2 x Criminal Negligence Causing Death
– 1 x Dangerous Driving Cause Bodily Harm
– 1 x Criminal Negligence Cause Bodily Harm
He is scheduled to appear at court in St. Thomas today to answer to the charges.
