(Quinte West, ON)- This morning at 4:30 a.m. officers with the Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on the Highway 401 eastbound off ramp to the Trenton ONroute.
A vehicle exiting Hwy 401 struck the back of a transport that was parked on the shoulder of the ramp. The vehicle was wedged under the tractor trailer.
Fire Services and ambulance attended the scene. The female driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The eastbound off ramp to the ONroute remains closed while OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators assist with determining the cause of the collision.
A post-mortem will be conducted on the deceased driver this morning.
The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
