Fatal Three Vehicle Collision

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – At approximately 1:05 p.m. on November 26, 2016, the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Middlesex Centre Fire Services, and the Middlesex-London Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that a GMC pickup truck was travelling northbound on Vanneck Road, where it collided with a Dodge car, in the intersection at Egremont Drive (which is governed by traffic lights). The Dodge car, which was travelling eastbound on Egremont Drive, then collided with a Honda car, which was travelling westbound on Egremont Drive.

The driver of the Honda is deceased. Their identity is being with-held pending notification of next-of-kin.

The driver of the Dodge had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to hospital by ambulance with life threatening injuries. Two passengers in the Dodge also suffered life threatening injuries, and were transported by ambulance to hospital.

The three occupants of the GMC did not attend hospital.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene to assist with the investigation. As a result, Egremont Drive is closed from Denfield Road to Melrose Drive, and Vanneck Road is closed from Sunningdale Road to Boston Drive. Motorists will have to find alternative routes.

This incident remains under investigation. An update will be issued once additional information becomes available.
