(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a fatal collision at Gravelly Bay on Lake Erie, Ontario.
On Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at approximately 4:58 p.m., the Norfolk County OPP Marine Unit responded to Gravelly Bay for a collision involving two (2) Sea-Doos.
Through the course of investigation, it has been determined that three (3) Sea-Doos were being operated on Lake Erie when two (2) of the riders collided.
As a result of the collision, 49-year-old Stacey SHERMAN of Norfolk County, Ontario suffered serious life threatening injuries and was air lifted to a Haldimand County, Ontario hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The other operators of the Sea-Doos did not suffer any injuries.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
