(DRYDEN, ON) – On September 13, 2015 at approximately 1:12 am, officers from the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 17 at Airport Road just east of Dryden. Police have confirmed that the three occupants of one of the motor vehicles are deceased, and the two occupants of the other vehicle sustained non life threatening injuries.
The identities of the deceased are not being released at this time, pending the notification of next of kin.
Dryden OPP officers are being assisted by officers from Kenora and Ignace Detachments as well as Technical Collision Investigators (TCI).
Highway 17 was closed for approximately 6 hours and is now open to one lane of traffic until the removal of vehicles is completed. The public can contact 511 for updated road closure information.
The investigation is continuing.
