(TEMAGAMI, ON) Members of the Temagami Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on January 18, 2015 shortly before 7:00 p.m.
The collision occurred on Highway 11 at Milne-Sherman Road, Temagami. A southbound automobile lost control, entered the northbound lane and struck an oncoming tractor trailer.
The driver of the tractor trailer, Louis PLEAU, 41, of Notre-Dame-du-Nord was not injured. The driver of the automobile, Kristian PRESTON, 30, of Haileybury was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the vehicles.
The Temagami Fire Department, The District of Temiskaming Ambulance Service attended and the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with this ongoing investigation.
Highway 11 was closed for approximately 7.5 hours as a result of the collision.
