(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – The City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a single vehicle collision that resulted in the death of the vehicle driver.
On January 8, 2015, just after midnight, OPP officers attended a single vehicle collision on Highway 7 at Greenfield Road. The Highway was closed at Kent Street, Greenfield Road and Angeline Street during the investigation.
The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Initial investigation indicates that the vehicle was Westbound on Highway 7 when it entered the North ditch, crossed over Greenfield Road and then struck a hydro pole. The driver, and lone occupant, Francis HERLIHEY, 30 years of age, of Lindsay, died as a result of the collision.
