(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On January 23, 2015 at approximately 1:19 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a serious collision involving a Peterbilt tractor trailer and a GMC Cargo van on Trafalgar Road between Side Road 9 and Side Road 10, Town of Erin.
Officers responded along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Services (EMS),Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services and Wellington County Roads. A male driving the van was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name will not be released until his next of kin have been notified. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
The cause of the collision is currently being investigated and the Wellington County OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) have been called to assist. Trafalgar Road between Wellington County Road 124 and Side Road 9 remains closed while the investigation continues.
