(North Kawartha Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to an address on Highway 28 in the Village of Apsley to assist with a residential structure fire just after noon on May 12, 2016.
Violet Eleanor LEAN (age 75) of Apsley, ON was located deceased, by fire services, inside the burned-out structure. The extent of the fire was severe and the examination for possible sources of ignition continues by the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal. The fire is not considered suspicious.
