(Listowel, ON) – On May 9, 2011 at approximately 11:30 pm the North Perth Fire Department along with the Perth County OPP were dispatched to a house fire on Main Street East in Listowel. Three people were able to escape the fire however a fourth adult was unable to find their way out of the house. Firefighters located the missing person who was then transported to the Listowel Hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
The identity of the person who perished in the fire will be released once next of kin have been notified.
The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate however the fire is not being considered suspicious at this time. LP11121786
