(ESSEX, ON) – On September 26, 2016 at approximately 7:50 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members responded to a two vehicle head on collision on Essex County Road 11, (Walker Road) near the 7th concession in Essex, Ontario.
A yellow Jeep was Northbound on Essex County Road 11 and a Kenworth tractor and trailer unit was southbound on the same roadway when they collided just North of South Malden Road.
The driver and lone occupant of the Jeep was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and lone occupant of the tractor trailer was not injured in the collision.
Essex Fire and Rescue Services and Essex County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) also responded to the crash scene.
The OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are currently on the scene completing the investigation.
County Road 11 between County Road 18 and the 7th Concession of Essex will remain closed for several hours until the investigation is complete.
The name of the deceased will not be released, pending next of kin notification.
