(KINGSVILLE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Windsor Essex Emergency Medical Service (EMS), Leamington Fire Service and Kingsville Fire Department were called to attend a two vehicle crash just after 4:00 p.m. on Highway 3, just west of Essex County Road 31 in Kingsville.
An eastbound Saturn containing two occupants struck the eastbound shoulder of Highway 3, overcorrected and struck a westbound Pontiac containing just a driver.
The passenger of the Saturn was killed in the crash.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to an area hospital, both with serious injuries.
The name of the deceased will not be released pending notification of next of kin.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are currently on scene completing the investigation. Highway 3 between Essex County Road 31 and Essex County Road 34 in Kingsville is expected to remain closed for the next several hours while the scene is processed.
