(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – On Thursday the 16th of October 2014, at 9:45 a.m. members from the Nottawasaga OPP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of the 10th Sideroad and the 2nd Line in the Township of New Tecumseth.
After further investigation it was found that a grey Saturn with a lone female driver was travelling southbound on the 10th Sideroad when it was struck by a blue Dodge Charger driven by a lone male driver, travelling eastbound on the 2nd Line. The intersection is controlled by a stop sign erected on the 2nd Line.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) were called to the scene for further investigation and reconstruction of the collision.
The 40 year-old female driver of the grey Saturn, Sherri BELLIVEAU of Beeton died as a result of the collision.
The driver of the Dodge Charger; 21 year-old male, Vitaliy HRYBACHOV of Caledon has been arrested and charged with Criminal Negligence Causing Death, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Driving while licence is suspended, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He has been arrested and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on the 11th of December 2014.
