Fatal Collision on Petawawa Boulevard

(Petawawa, Ontario) – On August 23, 2013 shortly after 5:30 am The Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Petawawa Blvd at Sharon St in the Town of Petawawa.

Preliminary police investigation indicates that a motorcycle travelling eastbound on Petawawa Blvd collided with a westbound pick-up truck. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the pick-up truck did not suffer any injuries.

Cst. John Riendeau is the investigating officer. OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are assisting with the investigation.

Petawawa Blvd between Garwin St and River Drive in the Town of Petawawa is closed and a detour is in place.
