(HAILEYBURY, ON) – On January 11, 2016 at approximately 12:15 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Lakeshore Road, Haileybury.
Pedestrian, Rejean LAJOIE, 65, of Haileybury was crossing the road when he was struck by a southbound automobile. He was transported to the hospital by The District of Temiskaming Ambulance Service where he was pronounced dead. The single occupant, driver of the automobile, did not sustain injuries.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are assisting with this ongoing investigation.
Lakeshore Road South is closed in both directions and a detour is available.
