(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – On October 11, 2016, at approximately 11:58 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), North Middlesex Fire Services, and the Middlesex-London Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a fatal single motor vehicle crash on Kerwood Road, north of Elm Tree Drive.
A van was travelling northbound on Kerwood Road, when it left the roadway, struck a galvanized hydro pole on the east side of the road, and caught on fire.
The driver was transported by ambulance to hospital with life threatening injuries.
The passenger in the vehicle died at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being with-held pending notification of next-of-kin.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are attending the scene to assist with the investigation. As a result, Kerwood Road between Elm Tree Drive and Bornish Drive is closed.
