Fatal Collision On Hwy 8

(Selwyn Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a collision yesterday just after 2:30pm on Highway 28 north of Clear Lake Road.

A northbound pickup truck collided with a southbound minivan on the west side of Highway 28. The driver of the van, Bradley FEE (age 60) of Oshawa, ON was transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. The passenger of the van, Karin GADDAS (age 58) of Oshawa, ON died as the result of her injuries at the scene of the collision.

The driver of the pickup truck, David LEWIS (age 64) and his passenger Lois LEWIS (age 60) both of Mississauga, ON were treated and released from Peterborough Regional Health Centre with non-life threatening injuries.

Members trained in Technical Collision Investigation and Collision Reconstruction continue to investigate. Highway 28 was closed for several hours while investigators collected evidence and re-opened just before 8:00pm.
