Fatal Collision On Highway 35

(HALIBURTON, ON) – On January 3, 2015 at approximately 8:11am, officers of the Haliburton Highlands detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 35 near Ravine Road in the Township of Minden Hills.

Investigation revealed the vehicle, a red 2005 Pontiac Wave was travelling north bound on Highway 35 when it failed to negotiate a turn and entered the west ditch causing the vehicle to roll over on its passenger side. The vehicle was located down a steep embankment off the roadway.

The male driver, 81-year-old James CORBETT of Coboconk died as a result of injuries.

Members of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment, the Minden Hills Fire Department, Haliburton County Emergency Medical Services(EMS) and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators(TTCI) attended the scene and assisted with the investigation.
