(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles approximately 500 metres south of the Pickerel River Bridge in Mowat Township.
The collision occurred at approximately 1:02 p.m. when a south bound Dodge Caravan collided head on with a northbound Toyota Corolla. The Dodge Caravan then hit a northbound Jeep Wrangler. Four people were injured and transported to hospital by Emergency Management Services (EMS). The driver of the Toyota Corolla was pronounced dead at the scene.
Highway 69 is presently closed with a detour set up around the collision scene using Highway 64 and Highway 124. It is unknown how long the highway will remain closed.
Northeast Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators have been dispatched to assist West Parry Sound OPP in this extensive investigation.
