(Otonabee-South Monaghan, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a collision just after 7:00am this morning (15December2016) on Highway 7 east of Villiers Line.
A Dodge Durango SUV, travelling eastbound on Highway 7 crossed the centre line and collided with a westbound Kia SUV.
The driver of the Kia SUV, a 53-year old female from Trent River, Ontario was pronounced dead at the scene.
The female driver of the Durango was transported to an area hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 7 remains closed while police gathered evidence. Peterborough County OPP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
