(Bancroft, Ontario) – On Sunday April 19th 2015, at approximately 7:49 p.m. officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a single vehicle collision on Loop Road in the Municipality of Highlands East. Officers attended the location and observed a Volkswagen Beetle car in the ditch.
A 12 year old male passenger, from the Municipality of Highlands East died as a result of the collision. The 44 year old male driver and 9 year old male passenger, both of the Municipality of Highlands East sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing with the assistance of an OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator (T.T.C.I).
The names of the involved persons are not being released as the investigation is ongoing at this time.
