(WEST PERTH, ON)- The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Perth Road 164 and Perth Line 20 in the Municipality of West Perth.
On Friday, September 7, 2017, at approximately 1:05p.m., Perth County OPP, Perth County Paramedic Services and the West Perth Fire Department and Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a collision involving a car and a tractor trailer.
One driver was transported to a local area hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased by the attending physician. The identity of the driver has been withheld pending next of kin notification.
The intersection will remain closed while an investigation occurs and the vehicles are removed from the area.
Detours are in effect and drivers should be aware that this may cause delays. Motorists are requested to plan accordingly as the intersection is anticipated to be closed for the next several hours.
An investigation into this collision is ongoing and the Technical Collision Investigation unit will be attending.
