(HALIBURTON, ON) – On April 27, 2016 shortly before 10:30 p.m., officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop after noticing the concerning and erratic driving behaviour of a motorist on Highway 35 in Minden Hills Township.
Through police investigation it was determined that the male driver had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested, and transported to the Haliburton Highlands OPP detachment for breath testing.
65 -year-old Ronald FARBER, of Scarborough has been charged with the following:
· Operate a Motor Vehicle – Over 80 mgs. of alcohol in blood contrary to sec 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
· Operate a Motor Vehicle – Impaired contrary to sec 253(1)(a) of the CC
A 90 day driver’s licence suspension was issued and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden, Ontario on July 6, 2016.
