Barrie Police attended to the south end of the city responding to a family dispute. On arrival, police spoke to the couple involved. An argument ensued over care of the children in the relationship as they were both in the process of leaving each other. At some point, the altercation escalated as the male picked up a pair of scissors and planned to destroy his ex-girlfriend’s clothing.
The female attempted to video the actions of her ex-boyfriend when he grabbed the phone out of her hands. The male then grabbed the female with both hands and still in possession of the scissors which began to poke the female in the chest area. Eventually the female pushed away from her ex-boyfriend, left the residence, and called police.
A Barrie man was arrested and charged with utter threat to damage property and assault.
