Fallen Tree – One Fatality, One Air Lifted To Toronto

(UTTERSON, ON) On Sunday September 8, 2013 just after 11:00am Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police along with Emergency Services were advised that two males had been cutting a tree down on a property at Long Lake Road near Utterson when it fell on them.

Family members had removed the tree from on top of the males and contacted 911 immediately. Officers attended a short time later and began CPR on one male until Muskoka EMS arrived. Both males were transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

Guodong DONG (72yrs) of Scarborough succumbed to his injuries. His son in law Yan JIA (42yrs) of Scarborough was transported to a local hospital then by air ambulance to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries.
