Fail To Remain Collision – Charges Laid

On Saturday October 27, 2012 at 2:30 a.m., a red 1997 Ford pickup truck was southbound on Janefield Avenue from College Avenue West, Guelph when it failed to negotiate a curve in the road, mounted the curb, and struck a utility pole. The vehicle and utility pole sustained severe damage.

The male driver exited the truck and fled on foot towards the intersection of Stone Road West and Scottsdale Drive. The driver was located a short time later and charged.

Damage to the utility pole is estimated at $10,000.00.

The involved pickup truck was demolished in the collision.

The driver suffered minor facial injuries and did not require medical treatment.

A 36-year-old Guelph male was charged with the Highway Traffic Act offences of Fail to Remain and Driving While Under Suspension. He will appear in court in January.
