Explosion Leads To Drug Charges

(Prescott, ON.) – On August 20, 2018 at 5:35 p.m., Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police, Prescott Fire Department and Leeds – Grenville Emergency Services responded to an explosion at an industrial building at 205 Churchill Road West in Prescott.

A 30 year old male from Rear Yonge – Escott Township was transported by ambulance with head and face injuries. A 36 year male was arrested at the scene for drug offences.

On 21 August, 2018, Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police and the Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Ontario Fire Marshall executed a search warrant at the unlicensed marihuana facility.

Police seized marihuana plants, cannabis resin, cannabis oil extract, marihuana bud, brick hash, cannabis gummies, cash, grow equipment, two trucks and a trailer.

Daniel Zachary BLABER, age 36 of Elizabeth Township is charged with:

Production of cannabis marihuana

Production of cannabis resin

Criminal negligence causing bodily harm

The accused was remanded into custody by the Brockville Court of Justice.

The investigation is ongoing.
