Exeter LCBO Smash and Grab

(South Huron, ON) At approximately 3:30 am on January 28, 2010 the alarm was tripped at the Exeter LCBO. An unknown suspect threw a rock through the window to gain entry. Once inside the suspect stole a quantity of alcohol and left the premises. Evidence was seized and the investigation remains ongoing by the Huron OPP.

The suspect was wearing brown pants, a large light coloured jacket with a dark stripe down the arms, a green ball cap and possibly a red shirt. The suspect appears to be male with an average build.

Anyone with information about this or any of the other smash and grab style break & enters affecting the Exeter area is encouraged to call the Huron OPP at 1-800-310-1122 or CRIME STOPPERS- 1-800-222-T.I.P.S. (8477).

Business owners are being advised to secure all valuables prior to closing the store at night. Any item that may attract a thief should also be secured. These would include items such as donation boxes with coins, floats. The suspects appear to be seeking quick cash or alcohol, no matter how small an amount. Those facilities with video surveillance equipment are encouraged to ensure that it is in top working order and turned on when the business is empty.
