(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On February 24, 2017 at approximately 9:35 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a northbound 2013 Chevrolet travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 144 km/h in a 80 km/h zone.
36-year-old Eric Philip Nielsen-Jones of Irvine, California has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on March 15, 2017 to answer to the charge.
