(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) On Tuesday September 10, 2013 at 9:18 a.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a tractor trailer collision out front of St. Patrick’s School, located on Roman Line in Lucan, ON.
Police learned that a lone tractor trailer was attempting to exit the roadway into the school lot when the truck clipped a set hydro pole wires, causing them to fall onto four parked vehicles. Police noted that the area was clearly marked with signage stating “Danger Due to Overhead Wiresâ€Â
The area was closed to the public for approximately four hours as members of Bell Canada and Hydro One conducted repairs.
As a result police have charged the driver Eric ALLAN, age 50 of Russell TWP with Careless Driving as per Section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act. The driver was issued a Provincial Offences Notice (PON) and released at the scene without incident.
Police are reminding the public that you must always be aware of your surroundings when you are driving and focus on local road signage that can alert you to possible dangers within the area.
