(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Thursday, January 1, 2015 at approximately 5:35 a.m., a Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer came upon a vehicle in a snow bank on Sykes Street North at Ridge Road in the Municipality of Meaford. The vehicle, a blue 2014 Nissan, was occupied by two males who had been drinking alcohol.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested for impaired driving and was taken to the Meaford OPP Detachment for breath tests. The test results indicated he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
Enrico James TINTI, age 45, of Collingwood, was charged with impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and care and control of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content exceeding 80 milligrams.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, January 22, 2015.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days.
