Email Fraud

(QUINTE WEST, ON) Quinte West OPP has recently been receiving calls regarding an email sent out by a large Canadian telephone courier. The email tells the recipient that there is an issue with their account and that they are required to enter all of their personal information including credit card number, social insurance number, drivers licence number ect…

The OPP would like to remind the public that large banks, government agencies and major companies would not contact you by email if there were any issues. Anyone that receives this type of email should contact the group they believe sent it and inform them.

The OPP would also like to remind the public to never give out personal information to any untrusted or suspicious sources.
