(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On Friday December 21, 2017 at approximately 2:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received multiple complaints of a possible drunk driver. It was reported that the driver of a white Pontiac SUV was showing signs of impairment. The OPP located and stopped the driver on Fourth Line, south of Elora.
While speaking with the female driver, officers formed the belief that she was impaired by alcohol. She was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.
48-year-old Elizabeth A. FLEMING of Fergus has been charged with Driving while Ability Impaired by Alcohol and Refusing to Provide Sample of Breath contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She was also charged with Driving with Open Liquor contrary to the Liquor License Act. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 16, 2018.
