Elderly Woman Suffers Minor Injuries In Purse Snatching

(ORILLIA, ON.) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating the theft of a purse in the City of Orillia.

On June 13, 2015 at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Orillia OPP was contacted in relation to the theft of a female’s purse at Peter Street North and Coldwater Road. When officers arrived at the scene they located an elderly female who advised that her purse had been stolen by a male party. The male then got into a vehicle driven by another person and the vehicle was last seen heading north on Peter Street North.

The male party is described as white, short hair in his late 20’s and was wearing a white shirt and shorts. The vehicle is described as a light coloured, 4 door station wagon.

The victim suffered minor injuries when she fell to the ground and was transported to a local hospital.
