(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating an incident after police were called to a William Street, Delhi, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On January, January 19, 2015 at approximately 11:15 a.m., police were contacted by a concerned member of the public to report a theft of Canadian currency.
Through the course of investigation it was determined that an elderly resident was walking to a vehicle after leaving the Delhi Medical Centre. A male approached and offered their assistance in helping the resident to an awaiting vehicle and immediately grabbed onto a purse that she was carrying.
The male assisted the resident to the vehicle, returned her purse and left the area. A short time later it was discovered that a quantity of Canadian currency was taken.
The male is being described as white, approximately 6’0, 200 lbs, wearing a bright yellow coloured shirt.
The Norfolk County OPP is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
