(BRIGHTON, ON) – On Friday November 21, 2014 a Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting speed enforcement when he encountered a motorist that was under the influence of alcohol.
The officer was operating stationary radar in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 east of County Road 26 when a vehicle was found to be travelling at 173 km/hour in the posted 100 km/hour zone. The officer stopped the 2003 Cadillac Deville just west of his initial location and found that the female driver was exhibiting signs of alcohol consumption and failed to provide suitable identification to him. She was arrested and taken to Cobourg OPP Detachment for breath tests.
Eden BRADSHAW, 22 from Roxboro, Quebec has been charged with care and control of a motor vehicle over 80 mgs under the Criminal Code; stunt driving over 50 km/hr or more and drive motor vehicle – no license under the Highway Traffic Act. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday January 6, 2015 at 9:30 am in Brighton.
