(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On February 11, 2017, shortly be after 1:30 a.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault on Murray Street in the Town of Blind River.
Police learned that 2 females had left a local bar. As they were walking away from the bar 4 females began yelling at them and began walking towards them. Words were exchanged and one female was pushed to the ground and the other received injuries to her face.
As a result of the investigation, Pamela MORNINGSTAR, 29 years of age from Blind River, Ontario, was charged with: Assault (X2) contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on April 6, 2017.
MALE CHARGED-NO INSURANCE
(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON) – On February 11, 2017, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol duties on Highway 17 in the Town of Iron Bridge.
Shortly after 1:00 p.m., police observed a westbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 17. A traffic stop was initiated. Investigation also determined the vehicle was not insured.
As a result, Majaba MUKUNA, 22 years of age, from Montreal, Quebec, was charged with:
Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway-No Insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act; and
Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on March 29, 2017.

As a result, Joshua FAIRBANK, 24 years of age, from Ramara Township, Ontario, was charged with:
Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway-No insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act; and
Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on March 29, 2017.
MALE CHARGED WITH SPOUSAL ASSAULT
(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On February 12, 2017, shortly after 5:30 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence on Solomon Street, in the Town of Blind River.
A male left his residence and returned home intoxicated. An argument ensued between him and his girlfriend. Police learned two weeks prior the female had been pushed to the ground on two separate occasions.
As a result of the investigation, a 39 year old male, from Blind River, Ontario, was charged with: Assault-Spousal (X2), contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on April 6, 2017.
