(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On April 8, 2016, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised of an assault that occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. outside a local drinking establishment in the Town of Blind River.
The victim told police that she and a friend attended a local drinking establishment and as she was leaving another female started yelling at her and assaulted her.
As a result of an altercation, Karen BEATON, 42 years of age, from Spanish, Ontario, was charged with: Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on June 9, 2016.
OPP CHARGE DRIVER WITH DRUG OFFENCE
(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On April 10, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Highway 17, west of the Town of Blind River.
At 1:03 p.m., police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 17. A traffic stop was initiated. Police observed Cannabis Marihuana in the vehicle.
As a result Jason BRUNNETTE, 41 years of age, from Sables-Spanish Rivers Township was charged with: Possession of Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – Under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on June 9, 2016.
