(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On August 4, 2016, shortly after 11:00 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Indiana Street in the Town of Blind River.
A female and her boyfriend were home when the female’s ex-common law husband attended her residence and kicked a door breaking a window. He then entered the residence through a window. The couple then ran out of the house. The ex-husband then threatened the boyfriend as they were leaving.
On August 6, 2016, the ex-husband was arrested.
A 28 year old male from Blind River, Ontario, was charged with:
Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);
Mischief Under $5000, contrary to section 430(4), of the CC; and
Uttering Threats to Cause Death, contrary to section 264.1(1), of the CC.
The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on October 6, 2016.
VEHICLE WINDOW SMASHED- TWO CHARGED
(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On August 7, 2016, shortly 6:30 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to vehicle that had a window smashed at a local beach off of Highway 17, east of Blind River.
The owner of pick-up truck had parked at the beach area parking lot. Shortly after, the male heard his vehicle alarm system and immediately returned to his pick-up to find his passenger side window smashed. The male’s wife’s purse was taken from the pick-up.
On August 8, 2016, the complainant’s wife attended Blind River OPP detachment and advised the investigative officer that her bank card was used seven times at a gas station in Serpent River First Nation.
Police obtained surveillance video from the gas station and a male and female were identified by police. On August 9, 2016, the male and female were arrested in the City Elliot Lake.
Savana ST. JEAN-MICKELSON, 18 years from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was charged with: Fraud Under $5000 (X7), contrary to section 380(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC).
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on October 6, 2016.
Nicholas TAYLOR, 28 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was charged with: Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on September 4, 2016.
