(BLIND RIVER ON)- On September 14, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to threatening call in the Town of Blind River. Police cautioned a female for uttering a threat towards a male.
Shortly before 2:00 p.m., on September 19, 2016, police received another complaint from the same male advising that he was again threatened by the same female.
On September 20, 2016, Chantal HEFFERN , 38 years of age from Blind River, Ontario was arrested and charged with: Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on November 2, 2016.
MALE CHARGED WITH STUNT DRIVING
(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On September 20, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties in the Town of Blind River.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m., police observed a westbound vehicle travelling over 50 kilometres over the posted speed limit on Causley Street. A traffic stop was initiated.
As a result of the investigation, Zhenjun CHEN, 39 years of age from Thornhill, Ontario was charged with: Drive Motor Vehicle While Performing Stunt. 50+ km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway traffic Act.
The driver’s vehicle was towed and his driver’s seized.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on November 23, 2016.
