(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Friday August 12, 2011 at approximately 6 a.m. Perth County OPP officers were called to a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy 7/8 west of the traffic lights at Road 101. The crash resulted in some traffic delays as emergency vehicles blocked the highway for a short period of time.
Investigation revealed that the Honda Civic had been travelling west bound on Hwy 7/8 when it crossed the eastbound lane and entered the south ditch where it came to rest. The 20 year old female driver from Stratford and the 19 year old female passenger from Stratford sustained minor injuries as a result of impact. Perth County Ambulance transported both females to Stratford General Hospital where they were treated and subsequently released. The driver has been charged with careless driving.
