(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) Two females and a male are facing charges following a traffic stop and search warrant conducted in the Municipality of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh. On July 26, 2013 members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Huron County OPP Detachment stopped a red Ford F-150 pickup truck on Gore Road. Upon stopping the vehicle a female driver and male passenger were arrested for Production of Cannabis Marihuana. A search of the vehicle incident to arrest was conducted which resulted in officers locating a prohibited weapon commonly known as brass knuckles.
Also on July 26, 2013 members from the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region Canine and officers from the Huron County Detachment executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at their residence located at Joseph Street in Dungannon.
As a result of the search warrant a female resident was arrested inside the home. Six marihuana plants were also seized.
As a result of the investigation three people have been charged:
Manos WARDELL, male, age 31, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with: Production of Schedule II Substance (Cannabis Marihuana) contrary to section 7 (1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Possession of an Unauthorized Weapon contrary to section 92 (2) Criminal Code, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon in a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 94 Criminal Code, Carrying a Concealed Weapon contrary to section 90 Criminal Code, Breach of Probation Order contrary to section 733.1 (1) Criminal Code and three counts of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon while Prohibited contrary to section 117.01 (1) Criminal Code. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 30, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich
Desiree DALTON, age 22, from Ashfield-Colborne- Wawanosh has been charged with: Production of Schedule II Substance (Cannabis Marihuana) contrary to section 7 (1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Possession of an Unauthorized Weapon contrary to section 92 (2) Criminal Code and Carrying a Concealed Weapon contrary to section 90 Criminal Code. She was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 7, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
Deborah WARDELL, age 54, from Ashfield-Colborne- Wawanosh has been charged with: Production of Schedule II Substance (Cannabis Marihuana) contrary to section 7 (1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. She was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 7, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
